Church Personnel

As it is mentioned elsewhere in our website, our Community’s primary goal is, according to the Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain Constitution, “to preserve and propagate the Orthodox Christian Faith and traditions…”, as well as, “to minister to the people [of God] through canonical services conducted by canonical priests, and through sermons and through catechism and Greek language schools” (Constitution, article 1, paras 1 and 2)

These goals are served, by God’s grace and our Archbishop’s blessings, by the Community’s incumbent priest-in-charge, assisted by the lower clergy of chanters, readers, sextons, altar boys, catechism teachers, and church wardens.

The priest carries the second grade of the upper clergy, and, by the Archbishop’s blessing, conducts sacraments and services, so that the Grace of the Holy Spirit is diffused to the Community faithful. He also evangelizes the Kingdom of Heaven by preaching the Word of God in the Divine Liturgies, in Gospel-reading circles, and in electronic correspondence groups (email, Viber, WhatsApp). This way he strives to gradually sow, plant and cultivate among the younger and the older true faith in Trinitarian God; also to portray ways of correctly practicing it.

Lower clergy (chanters, sextons, catechism teachers, wardens etc) portray the inter-complementarity of the Body of Christ, namely the Church. As St Paul put it, “you are the body of Christ and each one of you are a part of it”. That is, all of us constitute Christ’s Body, but, at the same time, we are separate, particular and unique members of it. Thus, the lower clergy of our local church/parish/community, as “parts of Christ’s Body”, offer talents and time, so that the priest is assisted in his above mentioned mission. Most of all, they contribute to the officiating of the Divine Liturgy, the sacrament of sacraments, which keeps world alive and prepares it for eternity.
Right below you may find full names and short bios of the priest and his assistants.
