Since its establishment in 1962 as a parish of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain our Community is organized and operates under the former’s Constitution.
Our Community, a UK charity organization under no 249960, seeks first and foremost “to preserve and propagate the Christian Orthodox Faith and traditions as contained in Holy Scripture, as practiced in the life of the Church, as confirmed by the Ecumenical and Local Councils and as interpreted, preserved and taught by the Great Church of Christ, the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople” (Constitution, first article, paragraph 1). At the same time it seeks “to establish school for the teaching of the Greek Orthodox education” (Constitution, first article, paragraph 3); and, finally, to “undertake philanthropic work for the benefit of those who need protection, assistance and medical care, to provide for the welfare of the poor…” (Constitution, first article, paragraph 5).
