As elsewhere mentioned, on Monday June 9th, 1986, the then Archbishop of Thyateira and Great Britain Methodios Fougias, inaugurated the extension of the Community Centre, mainly materialized through a £20,000 Leeds City Council grant. Ever since, further works for its beautification and modernization have been undertaken, including the scene, lighting, bar, sound and audiovisual systems etc., and the Centre has turned into a place capable of supporting all modern needs for food and recreation, both for Community and family events (eg children’s parties, wedding banquets, baptism dinners, birthday parties etc)
